Overview

Stress Engineering Services, Inc. (SES) is seeking a Houston Receptionist to join our administrative support team. The successful person will be able to effectively greet our clients, visitors, and colleagues; and interface with our diverse team, including the Engineers, Office Managers, Executive Assistants, and other Receptionists across 4 buildings.

 

This position is offered in a business casual environment with Professional Engineers located on the Northwest side of Houston.

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors in a friendly manner, while announcing each appropriately.
  • Answer and screen incoming calls via Microsoft Teams.
  • Maintain office security by following proper safety protocols in place at reception.
  • Follow daily front desk opening and closing procedures, while keeping a neat desk.
  • Maintain daily roster of building personnel and guests, and log training attendance.
  • B1 and B3: Order lab lunches daily; Order lunches as needed in the SES building you are stationed.
  • Receive and sort mail via USPS daily, and intercompany mail between SES buildings as received.
  • Act as back-up receptionist as needed at any SES Houston campus building.
  • Work with our administrative team to confirm adequate supplies are available.
  • Maintain public areas of the SES building you are stationed for the day.
  • Data entry and other related tasks as assigned.
  • Assist project managers on an as-needed basis.
  • Assist with conference center events by greeting all clients, visitors, and SES staff, along with:
  • Coordinating catering (breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner).
  • Coordinating with IT for any A/V support needs.
  • Setting up and cleaning up conference room(s) before and after the event.

Qualifications

 

·       High school diploma, or equivalent.

·       2 years of experience preferred.

·       Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

·       Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·       Stays well-organized and manages time effectively.

·       Able to maintain confidentiality.

·       Comply with all company policies and procedures.

·       Respond in a timely and professional manner to all internal and external parties.

·       Participate in special assignments as requested.

·       Ability to be at work from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. 

o   Normal working days are 8 hours in length, with rotations required for opening or closing front desk coverage– additional hours may be needed to ensure that deadlines are met.
