As the Accounts Receivable Credit Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the credit and collections processes for our organization. You will be responsible for maintaining healthy financial relationships with our clients, ensuring timely payments, and minimizing credit risk exposure. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in credit management, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

This position is onsite located in our Houston office. 

Responsibilities

Credit Assessment and Approval:

    • Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing clients.
    • Establish credit limits and terms based on financial analysis and risk assessment.
    • Make recommendations for credit approvals or adjustments.

Collections and Cash Flow Management:

    • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue payments.
    • Manage accounts receivable team to ensure billing documentation is in place for customers
    • Implement and enforce effective collection strategies to maintain healthy cash flow.
    • Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to resolve payment discrepancies and disputes.

Risk Mitigation:

    • Identify and assess potential credit risks, providing recommendations for risk mitigation.
    • Regularly review and update credit policies and procedures to align with industry best practices.
    • Work closely with legal and sales teams to manage risk associated with high-value contracts.

Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to facilitate open communication regarding payment terms and credit-related matters.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, finance, and customer service, to address customer needs and concerns.

Reporting and Analysis:

    • Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable performance, aging, and credit risk.
    • Analyze trends and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • A  minimum of 5 years of experience. 
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable and credit management, 
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk analysis, financial statement interpretation, and credit scoring.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred: 

  • Experience in an engineering or related industry.
