We are currently seeking a metallurgical engineer to join our team in Cincinnati (Mason), OH.  The ideal candidate will have a strong industry application based background in metallurgical sciences.  The individual must possess strong problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, and aptitude for working in a consulting environment. 

Responsibilities

As a metallurgical engineer you will participate in projects involving failure analysis, design/process optimization, product development, and cost reduction in a broad range of medical, pharmaceutical, consumer, aerospace, fossil and renewable energy applications. Responsibilities will include providing material science support on projects. This will include application of theoretical principles and testing to solve complex material science related problems.

This individual must have experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team within SES and also may include contracted and vendor resources.  Client engagement and consulting practice experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in materials science with specialization in metallic materials
  • 5+ years’ experience desired
  • Significant current experience using fundamental principles of material science and associated testing
  • Must be conversant in material degradation mechanisms including degradation due to environmental factors
  • Must be highly innovative with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills
  • Must have the ability and desire to be client facing
  • Sales and marketing experience to grow consulting business is a plus
  • Ability to creatively apply metallurgical science principles and tools to real world problems
