The Safety Director is responsible for maintaining an effective workplace safety program and culture throughout all Stress locations. Additionally, the Safety Director  ensures the company facilities are well cared for and adequate to support the company's business operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee laboratory testing safety, and oversee all installation, repair, and upkeep operations of the company's facilities
• Oversee chemical management and disposal as well as negotiate and manage 3rd party waste management
• Assist on safety aspects of field jobs and compliance to client standards
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, and applicable state and local requirements
• Create initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents Provide equipment safety training
• Develop metrics to report, measure, and track safety compliance, including TRIR
• Perform safety audits
• Manage, maintain, and control access to security and fire alarm systems
• Investigate accidents, including Workers Compensation (WC)
• Review safety related contracts
• Assist on prequals for projects to comply with client safety protocols
• Other related responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred
• 10+ years of related experience
• At least one safety certification such as ASP, CSP, or CRM
• In depth knowledge of OSHA standards
• Solid understanding of building maintenance, roofing, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, elevator operations, and electrical systems
• Well versed in health and safety regulations
• Adept with administrative tasks such as reporting and budgeting
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs

 

Special physical requirements for this job include:

• Ability to climb and descend at least one flight of stairs frequently
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly
• Ability to walk frequently between facilities and navigate around large and sometimes loud equipment

 

Stress Engineering Services has facilities in the following locations:

• Waller, TX
• Cincinnati, OH
• Calgary, AB, Canada


There will be occasional needs to travel to the various locations and / or to potential future locations
