Overview

Force-4 ( A division of Stress Engineering Services)  is looking for a passionate Industrial Design Co-Op to join our growing design department.

As an industrial design co-op with Force-4, you will work closely with ID and engineering staff to support design projects for clients in the medical, consumer products, industrial and packaging industries.

The successful applicant will have a high level of form generation and mechanical aptitude and an ability to work closely and collaboratively with design and engineering staff. Applicant will be comfortable in a fast-paced, consultancy-style work environment, with the ability to juggle multiple projects across a variety of industries.

Responsibilities

Participate in meetings with prospective and current clients

Provide brainstorm sketching, concept development and additional support of proposals, reports, and marketing materials for engineering driven projects as well as concept sketching (digital and physical), and CAD (Solidworks) modeling for design-driven programs

Generate renderings of design concepts during the development process

Draft sketches and illustrations of potential products or work on enhancing an existing product

Assist in our on-site 3D printing lab, utilize lab for prototyping and support of engineering-driven projects

Revise models according to client specifications

Research design trends and product limitations

Work with engineering, marketing, production, and/or sales departments to establish and evaluate design concepts for manufactured products

Perform research on appearance, safety, function, serviceability, budget, production costs/methods, and market characteristics

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of study in a Bachelors Program for Industrial Design or related field
