Stress Engineering’s testing services are offered through a series of industrial test labs located in Northwest Houston and Waller, Texas.  Our test labs are equipped with test frames capable of forces up to 18 million pounds, pressure systems up to 60,000 psi, and a variety of equipment for application of various extreme environments and test conditions.

 

We are currently looking for a Heavy Industrial Testing / Lab Technician who will work in our Houston and Waller, Texas testing facilities.

 

Our technicians are the front line, hands-on staff responsible for the setup and execution of the various tests performed.  Are you a mechanic with a strong aptitude for electronics?  Are you working in electronics with a knack for mechanics? 

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineers to setup and perform tests on a wide variety of equipment
  • Perform tests for various applications including aerospace, oil & gas, automotive, and more
  • Perform tests for pressure, temperature, force, vibration and other parameters to simulate working environments and/or extreme conditions
  • Install and/or operate various sensors, hand and power tools, strain gauges, hydraulic circuits, overhead cranes, forklifts, pumps, controllers and many other pieces of equipment

Qualifications

  • REQUIRED: 3+ years’ experience working in an industrial maintenance or laboratory setting (education/training may be considered in lieu of experience)
  • Strong safety knowledge/awareness and experience adhering to stringent safety regulations required
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required (Associates degree a plus)
  • Electronic and/or Mechanical aptitude required, including troubleshooting of basic electronic or hydraulic circuitry
  • Basic computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office required
  • Ability to follow instructions (oral and written) while working safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment required
  • Willing and able to work overtime which may include occasional work after normal business hours, weekends, or night shifts
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English
  • Must be able to pick up and carry 50lbs repetitively
  • Valid driver’s license (some occasional driving may be required)
  • Must be able to work in USA without sponsorship or need for future sponsorship
