We are seeking an engineer with experience and interests that intersect mechanical, electrical and software engineering disciplines. The ideal candidate will have experience in writing software in one or more languages as well as some of the following or similar activities:

  • Measurements using a variety of measurement techniques and transducers; strain, load, pressure, level, flow, temperature, vibration
  • Developing, selecting or using measurement systems; signal conditioning, basic electronics and troubleshooting
  • Developing software; LabVIEW, C#, C++, VB6 or other similar languages, preferably multi-language experience
  • Developing solutions using bus protocols; Modbus, CAN, I2C, SPI or others
  • PLC programming is a plus but not required
  • Experience with embedded systems programming desired
  • Architecting and developing object-oriented software solutions
  • Interfacing software to data acquisition or control hardware

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, deploying, maintenance and troubleshooting of measurement & control systems
  • Developing measurement, control and analytical software solutions
  • Working in client facilities for testing or systems integration and installation
  • Preparation of proposals and technical reports
  • Preparation and oversight of complete project documentation including technical manuals, drawings, and certifications
  • Contributing to the growth of the company through participation in technical associations and preparation of papers or presentations
  • Eager to learn new things and contribute to a team environment

Qualifications

  • Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer engineering degree
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Minimum 2 years of experience writing software in one or more languages (LabVIEW, C#, C++, VB6 or other similar languages)
  • Must be willing and able to travel on occasion
  • Work could be in office, laboratory, refining, or offshore environments. Must be willing to work in many different conditions that could require additional safety training.
  • Travel could be world-wide, and the applicant must have or be able to obtain a passport without restrictions
