    Stress Engineering Services Inc. is the premier provider of engineered solutions and professional engineering consulting services across all engineering disciplines serving clients since 1972. Approximately 80% of current Stress Engineering Services business is repeat or direct referral. We take on some of industries most difficult problems utilizing approximately 360 employees, including 215 engineers and have some of the largest testing facilities in the industry. We are looking for a MTS Laboratory Technician for our Mason, OH office.


    • Perform product testing in support of our various teams and other tasks as necessary in a laboratory environment 
    • Collect and organize large numbers of samples for testing
    • Observe trends while testing; record, organize and archive data
    • Operate basic test equipment and build testing samples
    • Document and communicate observations of trends or issues in handling the products and test specimens
    • Summarize test data in report format
    • Clean and maintain a safe laboratory work area
    • Receive and inspect products for testing
    • Order and stock material and equipment




    • Minimum of a high school diploma
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in a test lab environment utilizing MTS load frames
    • Strong interpersonal skills strong verbal and written communication skills to all levels of the organization
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) - data input, basic calculations, charts, and MTS Test Suite or equivalent
    • Safe laboratory practice knowledge and skills
    • Strong organizational skills to deal with large numbers of samples for testing and compiling resulting data
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Experience using shop tools to make things from wood, metal and plastic
    • Experience using MTS Load Frames – both electro-mechanical and hydraulic
    • Ability to develop new and non-standard test methods within the MTS software
    • Must have creativity in determining how and when to use the right equipment for a test
    • Must be able to handle/prioritize multiple concurrent tasks with critical deadlines
    • A demonstrated excellence in customer service
    • Strong organizational and analytical problem solving skills
    • Strong work ethic and "team" attitude
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and demonstrate effective initiative
